Meet Our Team
The people who lead your journey are a big part of what makes a Himalayan adventure memorable. At Ace the Himalaya, our guides are more than trekking leaders. They are experienced mountain professionals, local storytellers, problem-solvers, and friendly companions who know the trails, villages, people, and changing conditions along with local culture and costumes of the Himalayas from years of experience.
Our trekking team has experience across Nepal’s major trekking regions, from the well-known trails of the Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, and Manaslu regions to remote and less-traveled areas such as Dhaulagiri, Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Nar Phu, Tsum Valley, Upper Mustang, and other high mountain routes.
Their experience goes beyond Nepal, with members of our team having traveled and worked in Tibet, giving them additional familiarity with the landscapes, culture, and high-altitude environments of the wider Himalayan region. Our mountain leaders have also been involved in peak climbing and high-altitude expeditions such as Island Peak climbing, Mera Peak, Tent Peak, Ama Dablam, and Lobuche East.
Whether you are joining us for your first Himalayan trek, heading toward Everest Base Camp, crossing a high mountain pass like Everest Three High Passes, or exploring a remote valley, or preparing for a peak climb, you are supported by people who understand the environment in which you are traveling.
Some of our senior guides have spent nearly two or three decades working in Nepal’s trekking. Several began their careers as porters before progressing to assistant guides and eventually becoming experienced trekking leaders. This hands-on journey gives them an understanding of mountain work from the ground up, as well as a deep appreciation for the people who make Himalayan trekking possible.
Our team also brings a strong mix of academic backgrounds, professional training, and practical mountain experience. Every guide is licensed by the Ministry of Tourism and insured for their work. Our guides receive regular wilderness first aid training, and our team has undergone Travelife training focused on responsible and sustainable tourism. Many of our guides are also trained in high-altitude safety and emergency response, helping them make informed decisions when conditions change on the trail.
Communication is another important part of a good trekking experience. Our guides speak fluent English, which makes communication easier throughout the journey. Many are also talented photographers and videographers, so you do not have to choose between enjoying the scenery and capturing it. They know where to pause for a mountain view, how to frame a photograph, and when the light is just right.
When you trek with Ace the Himalaya, you are not simply hiring someone to lead the way. You are traveling with people who have built their careers around the mountains, know Nepal beyond the main tourist trails, and take pride in sharing their home with you.
