The guides constantly govern the rate of ascent during high-altitude trekking to ensure you are well acclimatized before climbing higher. Precautions are utilized to prevent high altitude sickness.

Using reputable cell networks and satellite phones, our home office in Kathmandu is in constant contact with trekking guides. We keep an eye on every detail, including any weather that may impact your trek. When necessary, evacuation by helicopter or assistance via pony is arranged. To prevent illness, we make sure that food while trekking is fresh and hygienically prepared.

We are committed to organizing ethical excursions in the most socially and environmentally responsible way possible. A new addition to our efforts towards sustainability is the use of  water filters or water purification tablets during our Nepal treks to avoid the one-time use of plastic water bottles.

• Sambhav Nepal We provide logistic support and collaborate with a non-profit organization called Sambhav Nepal.  Sambhav’s projects include maintenance of school buildings, building toilets, drinking water facilities, sponsoring the education of students from disadvantaged backgrounds, etc. in Nepal’s remote villages. The Ace team has assisted the victims of the 2015 earthquake and supported those affected by COVID-19 in Nepal.
• Support Rotary InternationalAce the Himalaya together with Rotary International takes many initiatives to help the community. We organize logistics for teacher training and trekking trips for the Rotarians of rotary clubs in Australia and Canada. In addition, we have contributed to the annual Kalamalka Rotary Dream Auction in the years 2017, 2018, and 2019 where funds were raised through our trip donations. Our managing director Prem Khatry is a Rotarian who also served as the president of the Rotary Club of Mount Everest from 2021-2022.
• VoluntourismWe design trips to mobilize coordinated efforts to advance the idea of “travel with a cause” to complement the common objective of community development. The voluntourism program consists of activities like teaching in a school, renovating the physical structure of school buildings and houses, working in the field with the local farmers, and providing medical attention in the local health post.

• Proper Training
  Ace believes regular training for our team is important for efficiency. Hence, Routine language and first aid training are provided to our guides and porters. Furthermore, our excellent team of guides is licensed and trained by top institutions dedicated to producing skilled travel professionals. For the sake of the porters’ safety, we restrict the total weight they can carry to 30 kg. Over time, our porters receive instruction and training to assume the responsibilities of a guide.
• Well-equipped staff
  We provide accommodation to our crews, with tents and/or sleeping gear during the trek. Staff and guides are outfitted with appropriate clothing, required gear, and equipment for each season and altitude, ensuring protection from cold, rain, and snow.
• Insured Guides and Staff
  Ace the Himalaya provides insurance to our office team, trekking leaders, and porters. The insurance covers accidents, medical expenses, and high-altitude helicopter evacuation costs.

Ace offers guaranteed departure dates. Once a booking in confirmed, the trip is guaranteed to run, regardless the quantity of participants. Furthermore, Ace runs the trips even if a single booking is made except for a few selected trips where a minimum of 2 participants is required. If the fixed departure dates do not work for your schedule, please let us know so we can offer alternative individualized departure dates. This often suits couples or families that would prefer a private tour.

For every seven members in a trekking group, we assign one trekking guide and add assistant guides for groups over seven. One porter is assigned to every two trekkers. A porter is added for an odd number of participants. In the case of climbing, we have one climbing guide for every two climbers.
