Ama Dablam (6856 m) is considered one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. It is also called Mother’s Necklace. It is because its long ridges on each side look like the arms of mother (ama) protecting her child, and its Southface hanging glacier look like traditional necklace (dablam) worn by Sherpa women.
Summited first in 1961, this snow-capped peak is open for climbing and when you trek to Everest Base Camp, you will see it in the eastern sky for many days.
Here are ten photos of Ama Dablam you might not have seen till today.
