It was my 2nd trek with ACE the Himalaya for the last 2 years. The 1st was Everest base camp trek in 2014, I did with guide Ram. I got such a good experience first time that I have selected ACE and Ram again. And it was the right decision. The right choice of the Company and a Guide is a paramount to the successful trek. This is especially true when the situation is getting complicated due to weather conditions or sickness of the group member. In both cases guide qualification and fast response from the Company might save life(s). This was the case in my 2nd trek. When the group member got AMS symptoms, Ram has requested a emergency helicopter evacuation. It was just slightly more than 1hr between the emergency evacuation request and time when the helicopter has arrived. Needless to say that in case of AMS, time is a critical factor for successful rescue. Ram and Ace of Himalaya have shown their high reliability in a critical situation. And reliability, to my view, is one of the main factors to be considered when you select the trekking company.
