Namche Bazaar

This viewpoint at an altitude of 3,440 m (11,290 ft) is a must-visit location inside the famous Solukhumbu district. Snuggled within the mountains, it is known as the unofficial capital of the Khumbu region and a popular hub for trekkers passing to get to the Everest Base Camp.

Among many viewpoints in the Everest region, the Namche Bazaar viewpoint is mesmerising not just in terms of beauty but its culture, and the people preserving them.

It is also a well-known acclimatisation spot for trekkers, particularly those heading to the Everest Base Camp or other high-altitude destinations.

The viewpoint offers incredible panoramic views of surrounding Himalayan peaks, including the world’s tallest, Mount Everest. Mountains like Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,861m), Ama Dablam (6,812m), Kangtega (6,782m) and Thamserku (6,608m) also contribute to providing a breathtaking backdrop to Namche Bazaar.

Hotel Everest View

Among a number of hotels, guest houses and lodges in the Everest Region offering a lot of its innate services alongside the fortune of great vistas, the Everest View Hotel opened in 1971 is a notable one.

This hotel located within the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site, is at an elevation of 3,962.4 m (13,000 ft). With its name on the Guinness Book of World Records (2004) as the Highest Placed Hotel in the world, the resort is a destination on its own.

Tengboche

Tengboche is another viewpoint in the Everest region located in Khumbu, standing at an altitude of 3,867 m (12,687 ft). The village, a popular stop among trekkers on the trekking route to the Everest Base Camp is also a common acclimatization point, thanks to its elevation.

The village nestled within a picturesque landscape, runs from terraced fields surrounding little sherpa houses to rhododendron forests complimenting its panorama.

One of its many prominent features is the Tengboche Monastery, which is not just the largest but also the most important monastery in the region. Its stunning architecture withholding all of its religious and cultural importance adds more to the beauty it builds.

The sunrise and sunset views from Tengboche are also particularly stunning. As the sun rises and sets before the Himalayas, the changing dynamic of light and reflection creates an almost surreal burst of colour streaks in the sky. Nangkartshang Peak

The Nangkartshang Peak at an elevation of 5083.14 m (16,677 ft) lies right above the village of Dingboche also in the Khumbu region.

The viewpoint, another acclimatizing trekking point in the Everest region, helps trekkers get used to their journey towards the Everest Base Camp while resting at Dingboche.

The Nangkartshang Peak offers spectacular views of mountain ranges like Ama Dablam (6,812m), Makalu (8,481m), Lhotse (8,516m), Kantega (6,782m) and Cho Oyu (8,188m).

Nangkartshang is easy to access and allows trekkers to enjoy most of their walk up to its peak. Given its reach, it is known to have one of the most beautiful views in comparison to all other viewpoints of similar topography.

Chhukung Ri

Chhukung Ri is a popular rocky peak in the Everest region of the Solukhumbu  district. It stands at an altitude of 5,546 m (18,196 ft). The peak, given its moderation in terms of difficulty and access, welcomes a lot of trekkers to acclimatise before climbing mountains higher up.

The place offers a stunning view of world-famous mountain ranges, and guides one through beautiful forests of wildflowers and plants like rhododendron, oaks and pines.

With the views of Ama Dablam (6,812m), Imja Tse better known as Island Peak (6,165m), Nuptse (7,861m) and Makalu (8,481m) highlighting the trip, it is also important to note that the Mount Everest is not one of those mountains that can be seen from Chhukung Ri.

Kala Patthar: Best Viewpoint in the Everest Region

Kala Pathhar is one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Everest Region. At an elevation of 5,664.5 metres (18,519 ft), it is famous for having the most accessible close-up view of Mount Everest.

Mountain ranges like Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,861m), and Changtse (7,543m) can be other expected sights from Kala Patthar.

Gokyo Ri

Especially known for the Gokyo lakes settling right below the summit and the world’s largest glacier – Ngozumpa Glacier, Gokyo Ri offers the best views of the world’s tallest mountains including, Mount Everest (8,849m), Cho Oyu (8,188m), Mount Lhotse (8,516m), and Makalu (8,481m).

Renjo La Pass

The Renjo La Pass is the westernmost pass of Nepal’s Three Passes trek located in the Sagarmatha National Park of the Solukhumbu district.

This trek offers insight into the remote and less explored areas of the Khumbu region.

With the lowest altitude among the three passes, Renjo La Pass stands at an altitude of 5,360 metres (17,560 feet).

Kongma La Pass

The Easternmost pass of Nepal’s Three Passes Trek is Kongma La Pass. It stands at an elevation of 5,550 metres (18,209 feet) which makes it the highest of the two other passes.

Cho La Pass

This pass situated at an elevation of 5,420 metres (17,782 feet) is another impressive viewpoint in the Everest region.

The Cho La Pass is a high mountain pass that connects the Gokyo Valley with the Everest Base Camp trekking route.

The Cho La pass is popular among trekkers seeking to experience the breathtaking scenery of the Everest region as it passes through landmarks including Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Gorak Shep to eventually reach the Everest Base Camp.

At sunrise the peaks surrounding Cho La change colours from ash white to soft pink while at sunset, they fall into hues of orange and blue. Pikey Peak at an altitude of 4,065 metres is an incredible viewpoint in the Everest region. At a relatively low elevation, this location is popular for its accessibility, culture and undoubted stand in natural beauty.

From Pikey Peak one can view grand mountain ranges like Mount Everest (8,848m), Mount Numbur (6,958m) and Lhotse (8,516m).
