Our group of 4 from New Zealand did the EBC trek in April 2026. We were assigned Ganesh Khanal (our main guide), Girija (our assistant guide) and Sonam (senior porter) along with a few other porters to help us on the way.

Everyone was absolutely fantastic. Ganesh with his extensive knowledge of the mountains, his witty humour, his care for every member of the group and inability to bluff during card games. Girija with his calm demeanour who always made sure we were doing good and well hydrated. And Sonam, with his limitless energy and constant care for the group.

Big shoutout to Girija and Sonam who helped me carry my pack when I fell sick for 2 days.
