Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu & transfer to hotel.

Our airport representative will be receiving you at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu. S/he will be displaying an Ace the Himalaya signboard outside the airport terminal. You will be then transferred to your respective hotel in our private tourist vehicle.

After checking into your hotel, spend the rest of the day at leisure, recovering from your journey or taking a short walk around the nearby area.

Day 02: Guided sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley.

After an early breakfast in your hotel, begin a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You’ll visit following city’s World Heritage Sites. today.

Pashupatinath Temple

Pashupatinath is Nepal’s most sacred Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Situated along the banks of the holy Bagmati River, this temple is a spiritual hub where you can witness centuries-old traditions still in practice today.  The temple comes alive with rituals, chanting, and offerings, especially during early mornings and evenings. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural masterpiece of Nepali pagoda style.

Boudhanath Stupa

A major center of Tibetan Buddhism, Bouddhanath is one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. Located in a tranquil neighborhood of Kathmandu, the stupa features a massive white dome topped by a golden spire with the all-seeing eyes of the Buddha painted on each side. The base is surrounded by prayer wheels, butter lamps, and colorful Tibetan prayer flags. Walking clockwise around the stupa (known as kora) alongside local pilgrims offers a calming and spiritually immersive experience.

Bhaktapur Durbar Square (Bhadgaon)

Bhaktapur Durbar Square is a stunning example of medieval Nepalese architecture and art. This historic plaza, located in the ancient city of Bhaktapur, is home to exquisite temples, palaces, and courtyards showcasing the craftsmanship of Newari artisans. The square is famous for its intricate wood carvings, stone statues, and the iconic 55-window palace. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Durbar Square offers visitors a glimpse into Nepal’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditional festivals.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara by private tourist vehicle.

After an early breakfast, we head to Pokhara on a private tourist vehicle (depending on the size of the group, the vehicle would be assigned). It is a scenic drive filled with inspiring views of the mountains, Himalayan Rivers, and picturesque hilltop villages. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel near Lakeside and enjoy a relaxing evening by the lake.

Day 04: Sunrise view from Sarangkot & Pokhara Sightseeing.

Wake up early to catch the sunrise from Sarangkot Hill.

Sarangkot

A drive of 45 minutes with 25 minutes easy hike brings us to the viewpoint of Sarangkot. It is one of the best spots to view sunrise in Nepal, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas. Get mesmerized with the magical sight of the golden sun rising over white spires of the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and Machhapucchre (Fishtail Peak), including views of the beautiful the Pokhara Valley and Phewa lake. From here, you can also admire the expansive Pokhara Valley and the shimmering waters of Phewa Lake below. After sunrise, descend back to your hotel for breakfast.

Bindhyabasini Temple

Situated in old bazaar area of Pokhara, Bindhyabasini Temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga (also known as Bhagwati). It is the oldest temple in Pokhara and serves as an important religious and cultural center for the locals. The temple complex includes peaceful gardens and a park, making it a pleasant place for visitors to relax.

Davis Fall

Devi’s Fall is a spectacular waterfall located about 2 km from Pokhara city center. The water comes from Phewa Lake and flows into a deep underground tunnel, providing a spectacular sight.  Locally referred to as Patale Chhango (“underworld waterfall”), it is a well-liked destination for both residents and visitors.  There is a neighboring cave exploring area at the site as well.

Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave

Just opposite Devi’s Fall lies the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, a sacred Hindu site dedicated to Lord Shiva. Inside the cave is a natural Shiva lingam, adding religious significance to this natural wonder. The cave is considered one of the longest in Nepal and holds great spiritual value for devotees. Its sacred atmosphere and natural beauty make it one of the top places to visit in Pokhara.

Phewa Lake and Barahi Temple

Phewa Lake is Nepal’s second-largest lake, situated at an altitude of around 742 meters. The lake is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere.

In the middle of the lake lies Barahi Temple, a two-story pagoda dedicated to the goddess Barahi, a form of Shakti. The temple is a revered religious site and a focal point for boating excursions on the lake. The reflection of surrounding himalayan ranges, Mt. Machhapuchhare and Annapurna can be seen on the lake’s calm surface.

Seti River Gorge

Carved by the Seti Gandaki River, the Seti Gorge is a natural geological marvel in Pokhara. The milky white river flows through a deep gorge visible from bridges such as the K.I. Singh Bridge and Mahendrapool Bridge. The gorge is famous for its dramatic contrast to the lush surroundings and its rushing white waters formed by limestone sediment.

Tibetan Refugee Camp

Located on the outskirts of Pokhara, near Gupteshwor Cave, the Tashi Ling Tibetan Refugee Camp was established in the 1960s when Tibetan refugees fled the Chinese occupation of Tibet. The camp is known for its skilled artisans who produce high-quality woolen carpets, textiles, and traditional handicrafts. You can explore shops and workshops to purchase authentic Tibetan products and learn about Tibetan culture and history.

Day 05: Drive to Chitwan by private tourist vehicle.

On Day 5 of Glimpse of Nepal Tour, enjoy breakfast then venture to Chitwan by a private tourist vehicle. Upon arrival at Chitwan, transfer to Hotel by Jeep (or any other vehicle depending on group size). On reaching resort, you would be briefed by our Guest Relations Officer about upcoming things to do in Chitwan. After the lunch you would be going for Tharu Village tour. Meanwhile the dinner would be ready by the time you return to the resort.

Day 06: Wildlife activities in Chitwan National Park.

Today is dedicated to jungle activities inside Chitwan National Park. Start your day with a warm cup of tea or coffee before heading out for exciting jungle adventures.

First, enjoy a peaceful canoe ride on the Rapti River. It’s a great way to see birds, crocodiles, and other animals along the riverbanks.  Next, hop on a jeep for a thrilling safari inside Chitwan National Park.

With luck, you might spot deer, rhinos, monkeys, or even the rare Bengal tiger. Later, head to the elephant breeding centre and spend some time with the tuskers and learn about their care.

In the afternoon, you’ll have time to relax by the pool or unwind on your verandah before dinner.

Day 07: Drive to Kathmandu by private tourist vehicle.

Today, depart Chitwan and transfer to Kathmandu; 160 Kms, 5 to 6 hours’ drive. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and enjoy your final evening in Nepal.

After returning to Kathmandu, you have the afternoon and the evening free. Explore the city on your own. Stroll along the streets of Kathmandu for some last-minute shopping.

In the evening, we host a farewell dinner in a fine restaurant. (Your guide(s) and an office staff will accompany you).

You have the option to extend your trip to continue onto rafting adventure, Kathmandu valley shopping tour, mountain biking and other activities.

All you need to bring for this Nepal tour is simply some comfortable clothes. There is no requirement for special equipment on the tour. However, for your ease, the following gives you a general idea about the personal items you need to manage for the trip. The personal items referred to here are optional and depend upon your choice. The most important factor to be considered while choosing the equipment and your backpack is the time of the year you are traveling.

We will supply complimentary water and a windproof duffel bag, which you can use on the tour for your shopping purpose. The duffel bag is yours to keep.

What kind of weather and temperature can I expect while on the tour?

The weather during your 8-day Nepal tour varies depending on the season. In winter (December to February), nights can be quite cold, dropping to around 4°C (39°F), while daytime temperatures are relatively warmer, reaching up to 22°C (72°F).

From March to May, the weather is generally perfect, with daytime temperatures averaging around 25°C (77°F), making it an ideal time for sightseeing and outdoor activities across Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan.

Following the monsoon, from September to December, temperatures cool down to an average of 20°C (68°F), offering pleasant weather and excellent visibility for exploring Nepal’s natural beauty and cultural sites.

Throughout your journey, air-conditioned vehicles and comfortable hotels will ensure a pleasant travel experience regardless of the season.

Arrival and Visas

Is it possible to obtain a visa for Nepal upon arrival at the airport?

Yes, you can obtain a Nepal visa upon your arrival at the airport. There are kiosks in the arrival hall that you use to complete the necessary forms.  The cost is USD 30 for a 15-day tourist visa, including numerous entries, or USD 50 and USD 125 for a 30-day or 90-day tourist visa including numerous entries respectively. You should carry cash (USD) with you to pay your visa fees quickly and easily, as digital payments are frequently unavailable.

Who will come to pick me up at the airport upon my arrival?

Our staff will be waiting for you outside the airport terminal with our signboard (Ace the Himalaya). You will be accompanied to a hotel in a private tourist vehicle.

Payments and Extra Costs

How much additional money do I need per day?

It depends on your spending habits. We estimate USD 50 to 100 a day will be enough to buy lunch, dinner, chocolates, and a few drinks.

Is it possible to reserve a trip now and pay a deposit later, or do I have to pay a deposit at booking/reservation?

When you book, you must pay a 30% deposit to secure your itinerary. The remaining balance can be paid upon your arrival at Kathmandu or before arrival. US Dollars cash and credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express) are accepted once in Nepal. Please note a 4% transaction fee will be added for all credit card transactions.

How do I pay the remainder of my balance upon arrival in Kathmandu? US Dollars cash or credit card?

You can make payments via US Dollars cash or credit card (Visa, Master, and American Express). A 4% transaction fee is added if paying with a credit card. Thus, we encourage you to pay with USD cash if you are planning to pay upon your arrival in Kathmandu.

We prefer you pay with larger bills (USD 50 or 100).  Please note that the cash should not be older than 2009 and in good condition, as banks do not accept worn, torn, or crumpled bills.

Can I use credit cards in the places I visit?

ATMs are available in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Chitwan. Major credit cards are accepted in all places, but you need to pay 4% extra as a bank levy, which might make cash preferable.

How are the ATM and money exchange facilities in Kathmandu?

There are ATM and money exchange facilities almost every few meters in Thamel, where you will be staying in Kathmandu. So, you can easily use your cards to cash out limited sum of money to which a minimum charge is deducted by the ATM facility itself. You can easily exchange your foreign currencies in currency exchange centers for an exact rate.

Physical Fitness

How fit do I need to be for this tour? Is this trip for me?

The Glimpse of Nepal tour is designed for everyone with a moderate level of fitness. It involves light walking and cultural sightseeing, with no strenuous trekking.

If you’re comfortable with short walks and road travel, this trip is a great fit for you.

Nepal Tour Preparation and Packing

What are the procedures after I make my deposit?

After making the deposit, one of our staff will email you for further information. We will require a copy of your passport photo page and your arrival/departure flight details. We will also provide you with additional trip information.

What are the necessary items that I should pack for my trip?

For this cultural Nepal tour, pack comfortable clothes, walking shoes, sun protection, a light jacket, personal items, and any required medication. You can find the necessary items to pack for the trip on the equipment section of the trip.

What about my passport, medications, and belongings?

Carry copies of your passport, insurance papers, and other essential items in your carry-on during your flight. If you take daily medications, keep them in your daypack along with your other essential belongings. Items not required for daily sightseeing, such as extra luggage or valuables, can be safely stored at our office or at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Accommodation During Glimpse of Nepal Tour

What kind of lodging is available in this trip?

In Kathmandu and Pokhara, we accommodate our guests in well-rated 3-star hotels that include daily breakfast. In Chitwan, we offer a stay at comfortable nature resorts, where all meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included.

During your stay in Kathmandu, we typically use Hotel Thamel House, Hotel Jampa, or other comparable quality hotels. In Pokhara, you’ll stay at Hotel Hidden Kingdom or a similar standard property. For Chitwan, we provide accommodation at the charming Green Park Resort or an equivalent resort that ensures both comfort and a close-to-nature ambiance.

You can upgrade the accommodation to a 5-star hotel for the entire trip for an additional charge.

Is it possible to have private rooms during the trip?

Yes, private rooms can be arranged at an additional cost.

What sort of food can I expect in the tour?

In Kathmandu and Pokhara, breakfast is included at your hotel each morning. Lunch and dinner in these cities are not included in the package, allowing you the freedom to explore a variety of cuisines. Both cities offer an excellent range of restaurants serving Continental, Chinese, Mexican, American, and local Nepali cuisine to suit all preferences and dietary needs.

During your stay in Chitwan, all meals are included — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — served at the resort. Meals here are typically Nepali or continental style, and they accompany the jungle adventure experience.

Can I charge my electronic equipment during the trip?

Yes, charging facilities are available at all hotels throughout the tour. Nepal primarily uses Type C, Type D, and Type M power sockets. We recommend bringing a universal travel adapter to ensure compatibility with your devices.

 

Will it be possible to get any clothes washed/laundry?

Laundry service is easily available at your hotel during your stay.

However, please note that laundry is not included in the Glimpse of Nepal tour package price and must be paid for separately.

Is the water fine to drink? Do I need to bring purifying tablets/filter?

Bottled water is available everywhere. If you prefer to drink regular water, it is recommended to use a water-purifying aid, which you should bring with you.

 

Health and Safety

Do your guides have Tour guide certificates from the Hotel Management and Tourism Center?

Yes, they have all received a 45-days training from the Hotel Management and Tourism Center in Nepal. The guides have also received high altitude first aid training from KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project). Please check Ace the Himalaya’s team page

Is Ace the Himalaya's staff insured?

Our company insures all our trekking staff members, including guides, cooks, Sherpa, and porters. Please browse through our legal docment page to view insurance details.

What vaccinations will I need?

While no vaccinations are strictly mandatory for travel to Nepal, it is highly advisable to take precautionary measures to protect your health. To ensure a safe and enjoyable trip, we recommend the following vaccinations: Routine Vaccines, Malaria, Japanese Encephalitis, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Typhoid, Rabies, Cholera, etc.

It is also helpful if you inform us of any medical condition that is relevant so we may convey this information in the event of an emergency. Ace the Himalaya keeps your medical condition confidential unless treatment is necessary.

Practical Matters

What is your cancellation policy?

Notice should be provided 20 days before the trip start date in case of cancellation. The trip can be canceled for justifiable reasons. Once the trip is canceled, a fee of 30% of the trip cost is retained for administrative costs.

However, the trip amount is entirely non-refundable if the cancellation is not made before the 20 days as per our terms and conditions. For submitting a claim to your insurance company after the cancellation, we can assist with documentation such as a receipt of monies paid. Refund will not be provided for unused accommodation in case of trip cancellation caused by personal reasons/sickness/weather.

Are there any volunteer projects that we could visit after the tour?

Ace the Himalaya is one of the prime supporters of the social organization Sambhav Nepal. There are several on-going projects in a village called Arupokhari (Gorkha district) which you are more than welcome to visit or even volunteer at. You will be able to gain a different insight into the lives of the people in the hills and also make a difference!

Is there any communication while we are on tour?

Yes, you will have access to telephones and internet facilities throughout the tour, making it easy to stay in touch with your family and friends during your travels.

 

Do I need to tip my guide and driver? How much would that be?

Tipping is expected and appreciated. You can tip your trekking guides and driver based on your satisfaction and enjoyment. It is a small gesture of thanks to the field staff towards the end of the tour USD 20 per guide and USD 10 per driver per day is recommended per group, but it is entirely up to your wishes.

Does it cost an extra amount if I am a solo traveler?

If you are a solo traveler and book one of our published dates, there is no additional fee. If you sign up for a private trip or change the trip date from one of our published trip dates, you will be charged an additional fee.

Who else will be joining my touring group?

If there are any, you will be allocated to a touring group. The details of the personal data of your group members cannot be disclosed.

However, feel free to contact us if you have queries about other travelers in the group and we shall give you a general idea of the ages, nationalities, and sex of your group members. Chances are you will be touring with others unless you have booked a private trip.

Can I add extra days to my trip?

Yes, you can extend your trip as per your convenience, additional charge will apply for each extra day.

I want to extend my holiday, any recommendations?

Transportation and Flights

Do I need to book my international flights for the travel to Nepal?

Yes, you must book your international flights. We are a local agency and do not make international flight arrangements. You can easily browse through flight tickets in airlines sites to book ones most feasible for you.

What form of transportation do you utilize?

We utilize private tourist vehicles for touring, city visits, and airport pickups. Based on the group size, we use cars, minibuses, or vans. We use 4WD when necessary.
