I am so thankful I chose Ace the Himalaya for my trekking tour in Nepal. I’ll start by saying I initially did not book with Ace because I saw a ‘great deal’ from another company, which I ended up cancelling due to them putting me in an unsafe situation, and leaving me at the airport with a flight reservation to Lukla that had been changed out of my name at the last minute.

Enter Ace, the heroes of my entire vacation. Sujan at the office went above and beyond booking my trek with less than 24 hours notice. Like magic, he found a way to make it work, including airport transfers, thorough briefing, gear check, sleeping bag rental, calling to confirm flights, and following up with me on Whatsapp when there were issues with my (previously arranged) flights and assuring me they would make everything work out. When the flight issue arose the morning of my flight, Krish (a guide for the company) took it upon himself to personally work with the airline (Sita Air), and it was clear he and Ace and a great working relationship with the airline, as everyone went out of their way to get me to Lukla. By some miracle, I was put on a helicopter for the same price as a plane ticket, and that was all due to Ace going above and beyond to fix a huge problem that had nothing to do with them, other than them making sure I got to Lukla to start my trek on time. I don’t think this would have happened if Ace did not have such strong connections with the airlines and even more personally, the staff. Once in Lukla, I was greeted by Sunil who was my guide for my 6 day trek. Sunil was super friendly, always had great energy, and makes others around him smile. He was warm and personable, shared about his life, culture, and family and what life is like in Nepal. Sunil went out of his way to see that I was always comfortable, recommending some great food choices, and always made sure I wouldnt be trampled by animals on the trail. He never made me feel as though we were moving to slowly and always made sure we moved at a comfortable pace. Sunil knew all the best places for photos and was always willing to be my photographer! He was very kind, but not only to me, but to everyone- other guides, porters, guesthouse workers. Sunil’s energy was infectious, which makes a big difference when your on a solo hike with just a guide and porter! I love that Ace has genuinely kind people who work for them, and am very grateful to have had Sunil as my guide. I highly, highly recommend Ace the Himalaya for any of their trekking tours. From the administation to the guides, you will have the highest quality customer service. (And when things go wrong and it’s not even their fault, they will do everything they can to make things right, which is how you can tell an excellent company from the rest. And Ace the Himalaya is definitely the best.) 100 out of 5 stars! Can’t wait to come back!
