Sujan Khatry
General ManagerSujan, a native of the Manaslu region in Nepal, has been closely connected to tourism from an early age. Growing up in the heart of the Himalayas, he developed a deep passion for travel and adventure, which later shaped his career path.
He began his professional journey in 2014 with Ace the Himalaya as a porter, gaining firsthand experience of the trekking industry and the challenges of the mountains. His dedication and hard work quickly stood out, and over the years, he took on greater responsibilities. In 2017, he became a Business Development Officer while continuing to guide treks in the Himalayas, combining his field expertise with strategic growth initiatives.
In 2019, Sujan was appointed Sustainability Coordinator, a role he held until 2022. During this period, he actively promoted responsible travel practices and worked to integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of the company’s operations. He participated in several sustainability workshops, including those organized by Travelife, a globally recognized program for sustainable tourism.
His strong strategic insight, field expertise, and commitment to excellence led to his promotion as Chief Operating Officer in 2022. For three years, he managed day-to-day operations, coordinated across teams, maintained high service standards, and contributed to the company’s long-term growth strategies.
In August 2025, Sujan assumed his current position as General Manager at Ace the Himalaya. In this role, he oversees operations across all departments, ensures exceptional service delivery, and guides the company’s strategic vision. With his strong background in adventure tourism, business development, and sustainability, he continues to be a driving force behind Ace the Himalaya’s success and reputation for delivering unforgettable travel experiences.
Sujan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with Travel and Tourism, blending academic knowledge with years of hands-on fieldwork. He has personally trekked to many of Nepal’s most iconic destinations, including Everest Base Camp, Gokyo Valley, Langtang Valley, Annapurna Base Camp, Annapurna Circuit, Upper Mustang, Poon Hill, Mardi Himal, and the Manaslu Circuit.
Outside of work, he remains an avid adventurer, exploring new trails, enjoying mountain biking, remote camping and immersing himself in the cultural richness of Nepal and beyond.
