I and four of my friends just completed the 13 day Manaslu Circuit Trek. While Everest base camp Annapurna Circuit Trek get way more attention and are more popular, this trek is better for people who want significantly less people on the trail with equally compelling views and the same level of difficulty.
Our guide, Nimesh, was in a word, incredible! By the end of our trip, he was more of a friend than a guide. This is an arduous trek and Nimesh was always focused on our safety and good health. He was very patient and was always looking to accommodate special requests whether they were dietary, shopping or other unusual requests. He also had a good eye for helping us take special photographic shots. Even in difficult times, he maintained a positive spirit, which always motivated us. He also had a wicked sense of humor as this was a group that liked to engage in a lot of friendly, teasing, and competition. Overall, he was just very flexible and adaptable to any situation. I should also note that his communication skills were superb, he always gave us an outline of what to expect to mitigate any anxiety we might have. Even if we asked him the same question over and over again he kindly would repeat the information in a kind and helpful manner. Finally, he was also a fix-it man. We ran into issues in some of the tea houses and he literally helped the tea house owners fix their showers!
I would also like to compliment our porters —— Bishal, Binod and Yogendra. They did a lot of heavy lifting, literally! They also maintained an excellent attitude and were warm friendly people.
Finally, I would like to thank Prem and his team. They helped with a lot of our preplanning questions in arrange 2 sightseeing tours for us in Kathmandu plus transportation to the airport and back.
Overall, Ace the Himalaya is a class act! I would definitely recommend them and be willing to do another trek with them!
