If you have only a day to spend in Kathmandu or are looking for a way to spend your spare day before or after trekking, this day tour might be perfect for you. We have planned your one-day trip in such a way that you don’t miss the most important feature of visiting Nagarkot which is sunrise.
At around 4 or 5 am, we drive to Nagarkot in a tourist vehicle to witness a beautiful sunrise with a fresh glance at the magnificent views of the mountains. After breakfast, we drive back to a few heritage sites you can find on the way back from Nagarkot. First, the Changu Narayan temple then the Durbar Square of Bhaktapur. At a feasible time in the afternoon, we can have lunch at one of the destinations then head back to Kathmandu to explore the Hindu temple- Pashupatinath, and the Buddhist stupa- Bouddhanath.
Changu Narayan (World Heritage Site)
Situated in the small village of Changu in the Bhaktapur district, it was built by the Lichhavis King, Mandev. Changu Narayan temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is also among the world heritage sites of Nepal.
Bhaktapur Durbar Square (World Heritage Site)
Visit the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the Royal Residential Quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, the famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in Pagoda style, Batsala temple, Bhairavnath temple, Duttatraya temple, Pujari Muth and Palace of 55 windows.
Pashupatinath Temple (World Heritage Site)
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world and lies 5 km east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.
Boudhanath (World Heritage Site)
It is a Buddhist stupa in the valley, built in the 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going around the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.
