Milan did an excellent job leading the group. He provided good tips on how to acclimatise, gave us rundowns of the plans for each day, and frequently checked up on each member of the group to ensure no one was struggling and everyone was enjoying the experience.
On my first day I got separated from my group because i flew in by helicopter, and due to bad weather my flight couldn’t land in Lukla. Gopal came all the way to Surke (the place I landed) to come and get me, and guided me to Phakding safely. Despite my route being different (and hence, no place where i was booked to have lunch) he found a guesthouse in a village and paid for my food 🙂
Kumar was an excellent motivator for the group. He kept a good pace throughout the trek to ensure we got to each guesthouse before dark, he provided clean drinking water for the group, and often acted as the group leader because he was fast enough to keep up with everyone and knows the trail very well.
I’m sure they’re proud to say that everyone in the group made it to base camp!
I also came to Nepal by myself to do this trek and at no point was I worried about my safety, because from landing in Kathmandu to leaving, the team at Ace the Himalaya had everything planned out and I was never left to fend for myself!
