You can resume your trek in Nepal; Cyclone Nilofar has weakened. Meteorologists had predicted that Cyclone Nilofar would hit western and central Nepal from November 1 and last till the 4th day. And they had suggested, as did we, it would be wise not to trek in Nepal, especially in those areas until the cyclone passes.
But, unexpectedly the cyclone has weakened rapidly in the Arabian Sea where it originated. As a result, the meteorologists at Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) have said, there will be no impact in Nepal. If you are in Nepal, you might have figured that out by now as there doesn’t seem to be raining and snow falling. so you can resume your trek in Nepal.
The Gujarat state of India, where the cyclone was expected to make a landfall, has faced no major impact.
So, if you had stopped your trekking in western and central Nepal, you can resume now.
Happy trek in Nepal!
