![]() | Can't wait to use them again in the future 30 April 2013 We were with a group of 8 on a trek to Everest Base camp. Ace the Himalaya provided excellent support from the time we landed. They provided very professional guide service and helped us cope well with the challenging environment. The guides and porters were very attentive and make sure we were comfortable and well taken care of. Their knowledge of the stops and local routes were superb. I had a great time and would recommend this company for your EBC trek! Can't wait to use them again in the future.![]() Jason Pierce Boston, Massachusetts, United States ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | I would recommend this company to anyone going to Himalayas 29 April 2013 I trekked to the base camp of Everest and top of Kala Patthar with Ace the Himalayas. Their service was excellent in all accounts: planning, hospitality, knowledge, friendliness. A couple of people in my group got sick during the trek and they were taken care of and monitored carefully. Every evening we had a meeting of the next day's trek, what to expect, where we were having lunch, what to pack etc. Our guide Raj and assistant guide Krishna were very friendly and helpful. You really felt you were their guests. You could always count on them. They never made us feel rushed or unwelcome. At the end of the trek, back in Kathmandu, we had a lovely dinner arranged by Ace and it was a blast! I would recommend this company to anyone going to Himalayas.![]() Anne Valta Santa Clara, California, United States ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | We couldn't fault Ace and will definitely use them 28 April 2013 Myself and 3 friends trekked to Everest Base Camp using Ace the Himalaya. The trek was challenging but spectacular. Ace the Himalaya were great and I would recommend them to anyone. Our guide was knowledgeable, helpful and above all a good guy. The porters did an amazing job and were also pleasant to be around. We couldn't fault Ace and will definitely use them in the future.![]() Cameron Ashcroft Melbourne, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | Ace the Himalaya made the experience an effortless and rewarding one 23 April 2013 This was my first trip to Asia and I was a little apprehensive of going it alone. Ace the Himalaya made the experience an effortless and rewarding one. My guide Bharat and porter Ram took care of my every need. They tailored every days hike to my fitness level and never pushed me further than I could go. With the length of my trek, we could tailor each day to how far we wanted to push ourselves. More like a vacation than a business trip. I also have a fear of heights and with Bharat and Ram's calm assurances I did more on this trip than I would have thought possible. I almost didn't care that we spent most of our time above 2000m. Going solo on this hike also let me get to know the people along the way better than if I had been in a large group. I got to eat in kitchens and meet the locals in a way I don't think would have been possible otherwise. The Nepalese people are kind a gracious to everyone, but with Bharat and Ram leading me, it opened up a new window in the peoples life. We trekked for 21 days and I unfortunately came down with altitude sickness before the goal of our trek. Once again Bharat and Ram knew just what to do. We descended right away. There was never any pressure to continue on. My health and safety were of the highest concern. I had so much fun with Bharat and Ram along the way that not reaching my stated goal wasn't even a concern. I feel that the journey was far more rewarding than any one stop along the way. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to recommend Ace the Himalaya as a company. Polite and professional all the way. Whether in a group or solo, your experience will be one to remember. I would love to return and get the same team of Bharat and Ram. Not only were they completely professional, I feel like we became friends along the way. ![]() Seth M Ulakovic Chicago, Illinois, United States ![]() Trip Name: Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | Incredible trip, extremely rewarding and I am already planning my next trip with ACE 02 March 2013 I booked with Ace The Himalaya after reading many, many reviews. I was not disappointed! As a woman traveling alone with a child, I research EVERYTHING very carefully. Our wonderful Ace guide picked us up at the airport upon arrival (thank goodness, it's a bit crazy there and I wouldn't want to be left on our own) and returned us there at the end of the trek. We had a wonderful time, it was organized extremely well, and after experiencing Kathmandu, I really don't know how they do it. On the surface it appears that nothing in Kathmandu is organized, however the Ace team is on time, every time, and always with a smile! Almost every reviewer posts the name of their guide and tells you that he is the best there is. We are no different....our guide was Madan, and we firmly believe that he is the best guide you can ask for! He looked after every detail, made sure we were safe, well fed, lots of water, treats and laughs! One evening he left us for a few moments in the guest house dining room and as soon as he walked out the door I was surrounded by other trekkers who asked..."Where did you find that guy???" They had been watching the three of us(myself, my son & Madan) laughing and joking and having a great time. It was as if we were three lifelong friends. NOBODY on the trek route had as much fun as us! We were the envy of every trekker along the route. Madan's English is very good, he has a wonderful sense of humour and is very kind. He is a young Dad himself, and went out of his way to make the trip enjoyable for my son. One couple actually asked how we managed without a guide. They thought that we were a family traveling on our own and didn't realize that Madan was the guide. The fact that we were completely comfortable with our guide is a real blessing. On a trip such as this, where illness and injury can happen everyday, you want to be confident and secure with the company you choose, and therefore its' guides. The other trekkers all had stories to tell about their guide, and believe me when I say that they would've paid money to have traded their guides for mine. One woman was afraid to leave her room at night due to unwanted attention from her guide, another one said hers never spoke to her all day long, even those that were happy with their guide realized that they weren't getting the same experience that we were. None of these people booked with Ace. Ace the Himalaya was a great company and Madan was the best guide in the mountains so don't hesitate to book this trip. This was an incredible trip, extremely rewarding and I am already planning my next trip back! ![]() Angela Smith Dublin, Ontario, Canada ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | I definitely would book the trip with ACE again 27 February 2013 Last year I came to Nepal for the first time. I did the Poon Hill Trek. As I really enjoyed trekking in this country, me and four other members of that group decided to meet up in Nepal again this year and do Kala Pattar and Everest Base Camp - this time with ACE, which was a very good choice. Everything was very well organised: we were booked on the earliest flights to / from Lukla, we always had double rooms in the lodges during the trek, we got picked up from the Airport in Kathmandu althought there was a strike that day....We were also very lucky with our guide, Kumar. He was reliable, friendly, capable, helpful and knowledgeable. When we were tired he always managed to motivate us with his good kind of humour. Without the support of Kumar and the porters we wouldn't have managed to reach base camp and kala patter- thank you so much!!! I'm still fascinated by Nepal and know for sure that I will come back again. I want to go to Dolpo and Manaslu and I definitely would book the trip with ACE again. ![]() Nadja Reiselust Zurich, Switzerland ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | I felt comfortably looked after every minute 22 February 2013 My first trip to Asia was motivated to see Mount Everest and other of the well-known beautiful mountains like Ama Dablam. Our tour guide from Ace the Himalaya was Raj Neupane. On our 13 day trip he managed to give us a deep understanding and love to the people and nature in Khumbu Himal. The tour was really well organized and I felt comfortably looked after every minute.![]() Bettina D. Stockerau, Austria Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | Ace the Himalaya is Awesome! 22 February 2013 They did an amazing job! The trip I had with them was one of the most difficult yet rewarding and wonderful experiences in my life! The guides and the porters were completely professional and very friendly. I did the 16-day Everest Base Camp trip. They met me at the airport, took me on a tour of Kathmandu with a licensed tour guide. Then, during the hike, our trail guide was with us every step of the way. He was able to maintain a good pace that worked out for our entire group. Overall, I would do this trip again! ![]() David Wicke Charleston, South Carolina, USA ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | Made the trip a pleasure 12 February 2013 Fantastic first experience in Nepal. The hotel was great because the staff is great. Prem was readily available and friendly. Our guides/drivers/porters all first rate friendly and helpful from beginning to end. Made the trip a pleasure and took care of the small details from arrival to departure. When I return to Nepal and I definitely intend to now I will be booking with ACE.![]() David Catania New York, USA ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | We would definitely do a trek with ACE again 10 February 2013 We were so pleased with the trek we did with Ace the Himilaya in January 2011 we decided to return again in January 2013. This time Ace arranged a 10 day trek in remote villages in the Gorkha region. One of the advantages of booking with Ace is the extras they provide such as, being met at the airport, which otherwise can be very daunting for 1st time visitors. Once again the hotels that were arranged for us in Kathmandu and Pokhara were very suitable and well located. We were pleased that they could arrange for a guide to take us to visit the Palace in Kathmandu at very short notice. The camping and food arrangements more than met our expectations, especially the wake up tea in the morning that was always very welcome. Our guides Raj and Santosh spoke excellent English and when I injured my arm Raj proved to be an expert in first aid. We find that a big attraction with Ace the Himalaya is that they can cater for large and small groups. We would definitely do a trek with Prem again.![]() Warren and Dympna Sly Sydney, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Home Stay Trek |
![]() | We definitely would travel with Arjun and ACE again 08 February 2013 I used Ace the Himalaya for a custom trek to EBC via Gokyo valley for me and my wife in late December 2012. During the booking process, Prem was excellent and provided rapid feedback to our questions and requests. Once in Nepal, Arjun was our guide and he was fantastic, we highly recommend him to anyone. ![]() | Second Great Trip with Ace. 05 February 2013 This was our second trip booked through Ace and both times they have been excellent. Prem is very prompt with replying to emails. We have now trekked to Everest and Poon Hill in the Annapunra region. Everything on both trips has gone really smoothly with no hassles or problems. We had a great time on our trek and can't thank Ace enough for providing us with another amazing trip. We both loved Pokhara and wished we could have spent more time there (maybe next time). Raj was great as a guide and Ram was excellent also, he has a great sense of humour! Please thank Raj again for us. He was reliable, friendly and enjoyable to have as our guide. Thanks again for helping us enjoy a smooth and hassle free time in Nepal, we will be happy to recommend Ace to any friends traveling to Nepal. ![]() Graeme Mitchell Melbourne, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Poon Hill Ghorepani Trek |
![]() | Thanks to Ace's professionalism. Highly recommended!!!! 03 February 2013 Ace the Himalaya offers an incredible opportunity for cultural immersion and interaction into local Nepalese culture. The rural nature of the project means that volunteers are taken into the depths of Nepal that is often not accessible to many other travelers. We took a University group of 10 students on a 2 week volunteer trip in Arupokhari. The sightseeing tours before and after the volunteering in Kathmandu and in Pokhara were absolutely flawlessly run by highly professional staff. The guide (Rajendra) for a group during our 2 week volunteering stint in Arupokhari was amazing. He had family in the area (with whom some of our volunteers stayed with), which meant that he knew the area exceptionally well. He was extremely friendly and supportive and was also an excellent friend to our group throughout the whole experience. The strong connection that all of the staff had with the local villagers was in fact extremely impressive, meaning that the needs and protection of the community was upheld throughout our stay, and that the impacts of our activities was monitored to ensure that we were only positively helping the community. Ace the Himalaya was extremely flexible also, when planning and organizing the tour. When our group wanted to slot in a weekend rafting trip into the Volunteer trip, Ace was more than happy to customize the trip to better suit our needs and location. They also allowed us to choose our own hotels and have as much say into the trip organisation as we liked. The trek was extremely well organised, with excellent porters, our favourite guide Raj. For the trek they lent us excellent equipment, offering high quality down jackets and sleeping bags, as well and specific trekking bags. The trip went incredible smoothly thanks to Ace's professionalism. Highly recommended!!!! ![]() Thea Olive Sydney, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Arupokhari Schools Volunteer Program |
![]() | Reliable and helpful company 01 February 2013 Ace was a very good reliable and helpful company when it came to organising everything I did in Nepal which was a 4 day Annapurna trek, a Everest Base Camp trek, sightseeing in Kathmandu and Pokhara, a 2 day rafting trip (with an unusual entry point), 2 weeks teaching in rural Gorka and two helicopter rides (one of which was to a private hospital in Kathmandu).Throughout the trip Ace was very understanding and allowed us to change our plans on the go. They managed to organise my trip to Everest within 24 hours. I will also have to recommend Raj as a trekking guide. He has studied as a health assist so he was very useful when I got sick with attitude. Thanks Ace!![]() Jordan Stewart Forster, New South Wales, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | I will definitely book with Ace! 01 February 2013 Back in November I used Ace to book a trip to Everest Base Camp and I must say they did an excellent job of arranging everything. I was provided with an amazing guide, Narayan, and he made sure everything went as smoothly as it possibly could. My trip-mate had some health issues and had to stop prematurely and Narayan made sure my trip-mate made it down safely as well as made sure I was able to continue on. He spoke English extremely well and had a great knowledge of the area. I even made it back to Lukla a day early and he managed to get me on an earlier flight to Kathmandu to ensure I was able to make my international flight a couple of days later. You never know when there will be flight delays in Lukla!I can't imagine having a better guide! If I ever make it back to Nepal I will definitely book with Ace! ![]() Stephanie P Houston, Texas, USA ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
![]() | Great personalised service! 30 January 2013 Ace the Himalaya were instrumental in making our UNSW volunteering and trekking adventure as successful as it was. They offered a completely personalised and hands on service, with a strong sense of community awareness and responsibility. They were able to tailor our itinerary to suit our requirements, and made things possible that I believe many other companies couldn't, such as white water rafting on the Bengali river. This was due to their ties to the local community in Arupokhari village district. I cannot recommend travelling with ACE strongly enough, their level of service is second to none, and the experience and wealth of knowledge presented by the guides and the company is exceptional. ![]() Joe Molloy Sydney, New South Wales, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Arupokhari Schools Volunteer Program |
![]() | Trip of Lifetime 28 January 2013 We had the time of our life thanks to ACE The Himalaya! Everything was so well organized that we could just concentrate on what we were seeing and experiencing. Our program included cultural sightseeing, safari in Chitwan and "soft" trekking to Poon Hill. Our trekking guide was Santosh, I was missing him after our return ;-) , because he is such a friendly, warm and helpful person! He is still very young but knows perfectly how to guide even first-time-trekkers like we were. His patience (telling us the names of the mountain peaks over and over again) and knowledge of the mountains made our trek a wonderful experience – and the fruits he served us every evening brought us some luxury moments! It was great to get to know him, he - and not to forget our porter - did a very good job! So did everyone we met, from our driver Govinda (always felt very safe, he was always on time) to our tour guide Dill. Dill visited with us all the important places in Kathmandu valley, he is of a great knowledge about historical und cultural topics – and he is a very nice guy ;-) He was always able to answer our questions and his english is really good. We learnt a lot thanks to him.So all in all we didn`t regret a second to choose ACE for our trip. Starting with the great work of Melanie (responsible for european clients), who helped us to fix our trip and gave us very helpful advices (who spent a lot of time with us, answering even stupid questions with a lot of patience and her own great enthusiasm), to Prem who was always available (and about whom his employers say that he is a really good boss ;-) ) and our great companion during the trip – next time we`d ask again ACE to prepare our holidays! ![]() Roland Schreiber and Leoni Hof , Switzerland ![]() Trip Name: Nepal Vista |
![]() | Ace Volunteering, trekking and sightseeing 26 January 2013 Ace the Himalaya was an excellent business to deal with, especially through emails from halfway around the world. I used them as part of a university volunteer group and everything was organised from the time we landed until our flight back through emails with our guide Prem. When we landed we were greeted in the airport and received flowers as a welcome gift. Our sightseeing was excellent as the guide spoke excellent english and took us in a mini van to every popular sight and gave us options for eating. We were then driven in 4WD's to a rural village in Gorkha which was the most accommodating village I'd ever come across. The driver's were really nice and we stopped frequently. We stayed in both home stays and a volunteer home with our own chef for 2 weeks. The Chef was very careful about hygiene and the guides joined us for evening card games and bonfires. The teaching program was really well organised and we were free to teach whatever we thought was necessary. The children loved to play and interact with us and loved playing games outside. We taught in 3 schools which were very different to each other and for schools that were a far walk away we have our guides with us who also helped us to translate with the kids. During our spare time Ace organised a white water rafting trip over 2 days which was another amazing experience. The rafting guides were really fun and we camped for 1 night with food and tents provided. We also went on a 4 day trek to Poon Hill organised by Ace and although it was a tough trek, it was very well worth it in the end. We had the same guide as we did volunteering so by this time we were very familiar with him which made the trek more enjoyable.Overall, the 3.5 weeks was very well organised by Ace and it was followed by a great farewell dinner at a fancy nepali restaurant thanks to our guide Prem. Everyone at Ace are friendly, kind, warm-hearted people who love to help whenever they can. Ace is a wonderful, small business who I would recommend to anyone looking for adventure, volunteering or trekking in Nepal. ![]() Naskaya Rajah Sydney, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Arupokhari Schools Volunteer Program |
![]() | Flawless Experience 26 January 2013 Ace was extremely organised and helpful in arranging our Everest base camp trek via email from Australia.Once arriving in Kathmandu they were highly organised and had everything from airport pick up, pre-trek meeting and accomodation (excellent place, also) lined up perfectly. Our trek was an incredible experience that was made ideal in every way imaginable by our guide Tulsi, who was extremely knowledgable, capable, friendly and caring for the entire trek. He quickly became a friend and was a delight to travel with for the full length of the trek. The porter that the company used was also very hardworking, helpful and reliable. Having all elements of the trek organised for us (including flights, accommodation, meal costs, permit costs etc) helped us to enjoy our time in the Himalayas and Kathmandu to the fullest extent. Ace facilitated the greatest himalayan experience i could have imagined. Should I return to Nepal or intend to visit Bhutan or Tibet in the future, i would return to Ace in a heartbeat. Highly recommended, Thanks again! ![]() Luke M Brisbane, Australia ![]() Trip Name: Everest Base Camp Trek |
